“We Are the Jones” is about the life of Jade Jones, the baby of the bunch and successor to the family business; Jones Specialty Shops, a chain of specialty item and accessories boutiques. Over the years the stores had built up a reputation for having those unique pieces that stood out and transcended time.
The boutiques had done considerably well under the direction of Jade’s mother, she had singlehandedly multiplied the chain’s revenue and expanded the stores across the region. Even with such a stellar track record of success, there was immense pressure on Jade to take the family business to the next level into the next generation.
Jade was born to succeed; she just doesn’t know it yet. Success is in her blood and once it gets pumping, it will be hard to stop the young tycoon on the rise. Life on the top isn’t always sugar and spice; and Jade is about to find out the hard way. Tameka is a very amazing writer!!!!! I now know why JSS was such a success because Laverne had to have went through alot to have start a business or better yet open a store at the time she did. Not only that, but because it could have been very easy for her, but because she was Caucausion female married to a African American male back in those days. However, this was a very entertaining and enjoyable piece. I can not wait until the remainder of the book to be completed. I'm curious to know if Jade will take on the family business or will she hand it all to Angel.Imeshia

It's not often that we get to hear the story of a female business owner. Some issues with switching from 1st person to 3rd person writing. Other than that, great story.
I read this book it was ok I found myself getting bored and skipping through to find good parts I eventually read it all and it was good.
